After answering some questions in this thread, I'm thinking we need to fix up the SilverCreator category. I'd like some feedback on the following:

New Board: Game Development
All games would have a development thread here, which the user would have to keep active by posting updates and screenshots within a specific time period. This is probably a good way to start getting rid of the "curse" EqwanoX is so proud of.

New Board: Game Graveyard
An extension of the previous board: if the user fails to update their game within said time period, the thread will be moved here until another update is posted. Additionally, we can move released games with broken links here to keep the other board clean and updated.

New Board: Code Samples Graveyard
A place to archive code samples that may no longer work with the current SC version.

Fix: Released Games
First of all, I need to go through all the threads to see which games are still online and those that are not. With that done, I think we'll need to upload our apps to a safer host, where they won't be deleted after a set time limit (similar to what MediaFire and Rapidshare do).

I know Mike said he will discontinue the board and all, but it's been three years and I've seen no downloads system save for the one at GMG.

Fix: SilverCreator Code Samples
Modifying the description is probably enough.

I think these small updates would help categorize threads better.

Do I hear any feedback? Suggestions?

these are all great ideas

the game development is good so that it doesnt get flooded with posts (while releated to sc) are unrelated to game development. its good to make content easily accessible to people who visit the forums

i love the graveyard idea, so when people dont update its like your getting demoted to the graveyard (i think thats where gigan would be at this point....?) Lips Sealed

i did notice recentlly that all my code samples from 1.5 are outdated, while those samples could still be useful, theyre not efficient examples of sc which should be noted by seperateing them, maybe not the "graveyard" but just code samples from 1.5

The idea is to urge developers into finishing their projects, myself included. However we'd need to come up with a reasonable deadline (one update per month?) so the user won't feel pressured.

However, with the possibility of a new release we'd need more space for the more recent samples. I can add the version number to each thread, which would make things easier, something like:

inventory system would become [1.5] inventory system

I was thinking about something along the lines of what the GMG does. Having a page dedicated entirely to the games made with SC is a nice way to showcase its features.

one month is good, then it gets moved to the graveyard, but if updated at any time, it gets to go back to "projects in development"

Right, so if there are no objections I'll introduce the new boards today.
