I need old versions of REALbasic
Jun 26
th

I am looking for the following versions of REALbasic:
2006r4
2007r1
2007r2
2007r3
2007r5
2008 - all versions
I don't care about the extra crap that came with it, I just need the .app
I need to find the best version with which to compile SilverCreator Universal. The only version I have is 2007r4 and it makes huge fat porky programs. Maybe an earlier or later version will do better.

I found 2008r3, but it is entirely in Chinese so I threw it away.

As long as it's a valid unmodified english .app then I can use it. Upload it to one of those file sharing sites.

Too bad MacAddict ended in 2006. I used to get their CDs, so if they had CDs in 2007 they would have put REALbasic versions on them.
I might have some imported UK Macworlds that had CDs though, I should check those.
Edit: MacAddict published for the last time January 2007. I have their CD here. It does not have REALbasic though.

Someone (maybe MacAddict?) put a bunch of 2006 issues and the 2007 issue online.

Okay, it's uploading. It might take a while because the zip file is quite big.
I called the zip "alex's baby video" as a decoy. Don't worry, it's all good. Just unzip.
Universal apps are quite hefty anyway you cut it though :\ 7megs for SimpleCard, probably smaller on a pure Intel build or a PPC build.

OK, done downloading.
(I have a 18 Mbps connection right now. It's so fast, but it's expensive.)

REALbasic pisses me off.
These are sizes from making a PPC ONLY build.
5.5.5
RB 2007r1
Framework Size
2.3 MB
2.9 MB
Compiled Code Size
1.9 MB
4 MB
These are PPC ONLY BUILDS, these aren't even Universal. Why does REALbasic 2007r1 make a compiled code TWICE AS BIG FOR THE SAME CODE. I could understand the framework being larger due to extra features, BUT THE COMPILED CODE IS THE SAME. They let the compiler get FAT and LAZY and BLOATED.
