A Noob's Cry For Help

Hey guys, I'm posting with another question.

I am mounting the task of creating an achievement system for Time Trial 2 that will allow players to record the total number of kills they have gotten in both single and multiplayer. The purpose being to create both an opportunity for more possible achievements and the ability to create profile statistics such as K/D ratios, Game Completions per Number of Attempts, etc. However, I need your help.

I am clueless as to how to create, within the profile document created when you create a new "Dossier", a number representing your campaign kills and, when you get more during ranked gameplay, add that number into your total kills in your profile, rather than simply REPLACE it, as I have seen it do thus far.

Code samples with explanations would be chipper and any help will get your name in the credits, as goes for ANYONE's code that pushes the game along down the road to completion!

Umm...

STEP 1: Make a variable for the amount of kills

STEP 2: Add to that variable whenever the player kills something

STEP 3: Steal EQ's saving code from his RPG example

STEP 4: Change said saving code so it's saving all the player variables to the file

STEP 5: Add a few lines before the saving code that loads the player's current total kills from the file and assigns them to a variable

STEP 6: Add a line after those lines that adds the kills the player got in his current session to that variable

STEP 7: Save that variable to the file as the player's total kills

STEP 8: ???

STEP 9: PROFIT!!!
